VOLUME 17#3 Fall 2002

Staff Rep. T. Kay Roan retires

T. Kae Roan, who served as a Council 2 Staff Representative in the Pasco office for 12 years, retired at the end of August.

"Kae was the first person I hired after becoming president in 1990," says Council 2 President and Executive Director Chris Dugovich.

"I thought hiring people would be easy based on that first selection, but it turned out to be much tougher.

"She certainly proved to be a good choice. She did an excellent job and we will miss her expertise."

Alpha O'Laughlin assigned to Pasco post

Alpha O'Laughlin has been hired as Staff Representative for southeast Washington following the retirement of Kae Roan.

She worked for the City of Walla Walla for 18 years, where she was an emergency services technician. She served as president of Local 1191-W, City of Walla Walla, which includes representation of workers at the Walla Walla Fire Department.

Kathy Carpenter fills southwest Wash. position

Kathy Carpenter is the new Staff Representative for southwest Washington. She is working out of Council 2's Lacey office.

Before being hired for her present position, Carpenter was president of Local 1845 in Island County. She also served on Council 2's Executive Board.
