Bank offers special program for union members

In 1998 the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust partnered with HomeStreet Bank to develop a special mortgage program for union members.

The result of this partnership is the Labor’s Hometown Home Loan Program, which offers participants reduced closing costs and a variety of low down payment loan programs.

This program is available to all Council 2 members purchasing or refinancing a home

Last year, AFSCME members saved an average of $1,200 in closing costs using the Labor’s Hometown Home Loan Program.

David Coffman, a Snohomish County employee and a member of Council 2, recently purchased a home using the Labor’s Hometown Home Loan Program.

“HomeStreet had a very attractive rate and saved me probably over $500 in costs,” he says. In addition to the closing cost discounts, Coffman says he found HomeStreet’s customer service appealing.“My Loan Officer and his staff were wonderful to work with,” he says.

The Labor’s Hometown Home Loan Program also offers:
• Below-market interest rate programs
• Down payment assistance
• Free homebuyer education
• Fast and free pre-approvals
• Extended service hours

The Labor’s Hometown Home Loan Program offers many types of financing programs for the purchase, refinance, or construction or renovation of new or existing homes. This program is available only through the Affinity Lending Center at HomeStreet Bank.
