Nearly 400 delegates from more than 140 local government jurisdictions are expected to attend the 46th Biennial Convention to be held by Council 2 at the Bicentennial Convention Center in Tacoma from June 20 to 22.

The convention, which meets every other year, sets the direction of the Union for the next two years.

International President Gerald McEntee, Secretary-Treasurer William Lucy and US Senator Maria Cantwell are scheduled to speak at the convention.

Council 2’s executive board meeting will be held Friday afternoon and the convention will convene, after the people breakfast, on Saturday morning.

The convention will reconvene on Sunday. Several workshops will be held during the weekend.

Delegate credentials will be sent to Local President at the end of March.

Golf tournament precedes convention

The traditional golf tournament will precede Council 2’s convention on the morning of Friday, June 20.

Plans are for it to be held at a local golf club.
