13 AFSCME scholarships available

THIRTEEN SCHOLARSHIPS of $2,000 each are being offered under the AFSCME Family Scholarship Program for 2007.

The increase in the awards to 13 from the usual 10 was made possible by a donation from the American Education Services/Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency. The organization advises members on higher education financing and educational assistance.

The scholarships will be renewed for $2,000 each for four years if the student remains enrolled in a full-time degree program at an accredited institution.

To be eligible, a student must be a graduating high school senior who is a daughter or son of an AFSCME member and be enrolled in a full-time degree program.

Forms can be downloaded at www.afscme.org or requested from: AFSCME Family Scholarship Program, c/o Education Department, 1625 L Street, NW, Washington, DC 20036.
