Dear Union Activist:

You are invited to join us in Seattle on Tuesday, November 30th for a huge labor rally and march to protest the World Trade Organization (WTO). The rally will be held at the Seattle Center’s Memorial Stadium, and the march will be to the Convention Center where the WTO is convening its meetings.

Trade ministers from 134 countries will be meeting in Seattle to make decisions that could have serious impacts on your job and your family’s future. In recent years, hundreds of thousands of union members have lost their livelihoods to misguided trade policies that have favored free trade over fair trade.

The WTO has the power to impose changes in U.S. laws that protect workers if they deem such laws a barrier to free trade. Even public employees are threatened with the loss of protections against privatization under WTO rules that challenge our fair labor standards as unfair trade practices.

We want to make the Global Economy Work for Working Families. Demonstrate your commitment to worker rights and fair trade on Tuesday, November 30th. The gates to Memorial Stadium will open at 9:00 a.m; the rally begins at 10:00 a.m. and the march will start at 12:30 p.m.

This will be the largest labor rally in Seattle’s history. Don’t miss it!
